Kryenbuehl slid down around 50 metres to the finish line before several medical professionals rushed to his aid.
It’s not the first time that this particular jumping point has resulted in a serious accident, with Daniel Albrecht left in an artificial coma for three weeks back in January 2009 after a training crash.
Croatian skier Elias Kolega, who was on commentary duties for HRT at the time, said on the incident: “Wow, this is terrible, I haven’t seen such a fall in a long time.”

No official confirmation has been given regarding the current condition of Kryenbuehl, with several reports indicating he suffered a serious head injury.
Kryenbuehl’s horrific crash was not the only talking point from the day’s action.
American Ryan Cochran-Siegle was also taken to hospital as a precaution after crashing into a safety net and injuring his shoulder not long before the aforementioned crash.
