Is this the best caption for the meme of The Weeknd’s Super Bowl half-time show? Newcastle fans will certainly think so!
The Canadian singer sung some of his greatest hits in the interval of Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ clash with the Kansas City Chiefs, finishing off the medley with his 2020 smash hit Blinding Lights.
But it was the what happened early in The Weeknd’s routine which really caught the eyeTwitter
However, it was early on in the performance which attracted lots of attention on social media as he wondered round a room with very bright lights.
The Weeknd, real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, acted like he was in a trance with some bizarre camera work, and obviously the internet has had a ball adding their own captions to the clip.
But Saint-Maximin may have won the ‘best caption’ prize as he used the video to have a dig at Newcastle’s rivals Sunderland.
It all started when it was announced Newcastle’s Under-23s clash at Sunderland was postponed due to heavy snowfall.
Saint-Maximin is a great player but also a social media kingAFP
One outraged Black Cats fan responded to this news, tweeting: “Sunderland would win anyway lol your team is s***”.
This didn’t sit too well with the French forward, who replied to this tweet with a video of The Weeknd looking around, which featured a hilarious caption.
“The Premier League calendar looking for Sunderland season after season,” it read.

Newcastle are very much the top team in the north-east as they’re in the Premier League, while Middlesbrough and Sunderland are in the Championship and League One respectively.
The Magpies are in the bottom half of the top flight but their 3-2 win over Southampton made it two wins in their last three for Steve Bruce’s men.
As for the Super Bowl, that went the way of Tampa Bay, as Tom Brady secured a record seventh title at the ripe old age of 43.
But now Saint-Maximin is stealing the show!
