Jake Paul and Khabib Nurmagomedov mock Conor McGregor after being knocked out by Dustin Poirier at UFC 257

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Jake Paul have taken turns to mock Conor McGregor after he was stopped by Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on Fight Island.
McGregor had beaten Poirier inside two minutes in September 2014 and was the overwhelming favourite to do the double in the lightweight bout in a bid to get old foe Nurmagomedov to reverse his retirement.

But Poirier survived some cagey moments in the first round and began to gain the ascendancy with some savage leg kicks in the second before a flurry of punches sent McGregor down to the canvas.
Poirier followed up with a couple of vicious blows on a defenceless McGregor, leading referee Herb Dean to wave off the fight after just two minutes and 32 seconds of the second round.
Khabib wanted to see something ‘spectacular’ if he was to come out of retirement, but it appears as though the chances of seeing him face McGregor in a rematch are now officially done.
He wrote on Twitter: “This is what happened, when you change your team, leave the sparring partners who made you a champion and sparring with little kids, far away from reality.”

Paul, who has pressed McGregor for a boxing bout, has now downgraded his initial $50million offer to a mere $10,000.
A gracious McGregor said after the bout: “That low calf kick was very good, my leg was dead and then I wasn’t just as comfortable as I needed to be. It’s inactivity and that’s it. Dustin’s some fighter.
“If you put in the time in here, you’re going to get cosy in here and I just have to dust it off and come back and that’s what I will do. I need activity, you don’t get away with being inactive in this business.
“I’ll take my licks. I’m gutted and I put so much work in. Well done Dustin: 1-1, good man. It’s a tough one to swallow, I put in a lot of work, I’m proud of my work. We’ll get to go again and that’s it.”
