Tony Cascarino believes Frank Lampard has to win his next three games to save his job at Chelsea… but even then he might only make it to the end of the season.
Pressure is mounting on Lampard following a 2-0 defeat to Leicester on Tuesday night as they slipped down to eighth in the Premier League.

The Blues spent in excess of £200million in last summer’s transfer window but are worse off than they were at same point last season.
After 19 games of the 2019/20 campaign, Lampard’s team were fourth with three more points.
Former Chelsea striker Cascarino says the Blues NEED to go on a winning run right now if Lampard is to survive.
“It never goes down well when you spend loads of money on signings who don’t work out or are not playing well,” Casc told Wednesday’s talkSPORT Breakfast.
“Upstairs will go, ‘we’ll give him more money and spend again’, but they get a little bit nervous and edgy about doing that.
“He knows the job at Chelsea is full of criticism and it doesn’t take a lot for that owner to make a change.
“Their performances have been really poor; take the win against Fulham, it was 1-0 and they struggled for long periods of the game.
“Their highest team they’ve beaten this season is seventh – they’ve not beaten anybody above seventh.

“Their 3-0 win against West Ham at Stamford Bridge was their best result; they did enough to get over the line, but getting a performance plus a result is a huge problem.
“He’s got three home games now back-to-back, one in the FA Cup against Luton and two league games.
“He has to win them. He might make the end of the season, but if he’s going to make the end of the season he has to go on a run of winning games now.
“He can’t go through getting knocked out of the cup or getting a horrendous result against Burnley or Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
“He won’t survive that, and if the owner thinks, ‘we aren’t going to make the Champions League, we’re way adrift of that position’…
“He knows he’s walking on eggshells.”
Cascarino was also concerned by Chelsea’s performance against Leicester and believes there were multiple things wrong with the showing.
Goals from Wilfred Ndidi and James Maddison fired the Foxes to the top of the table while the Blues are nine points off the pace.
“When I saw that midfield I thought, ‘none of them can make a tackle’,” added Casc. “Kovacic, good footballer; Mason Mount, the highest energy of the three of them; and Havertz.

“Is it a surprise that two of their midfielders scored goals? Because it wasn’t to me. Leicester probably loved that team sheet when they saw it!
“There was so much wrong with last night’s performance.
“Frank has been in the job quite a long time. He’s been given the one commodity that doesn’t happen at Chelsea – time.
“He’s been in the job longer than David Moyes, Jose Mourinho, Mikel Arteta… five months more than Brendan [Rodgers] at Leicester.
“Unai Emery got 18 months [at Arsenal], that’s exactly what Frank’s had at Stamford Bridge.
“There are lots and lots of worrying concerns. When he talks about the energy, he is the one who selects the team.
“If you think of Liverpool: In midfield they can have Fabinho, Henderson Wijnaldum… ball winners. You’ve got Fred and McTominay doing it at Man United, and Rodri and Fernandinho at Man City.
“I know N’Golo Kante can do that, but he’s only one. If they ever lose that one they are in serious trouble in the engine room of the team.”

Timo Werner came off the bench and thought he’d scored to get Chelsea back in the game – only for his goal to be disallowed for offside.
The German has not netted in the Premier League since October and Cascarino thinks Lampard should take a share of the blame.
“I don’t quite get it because he started well,” commented Cascarino on Werner. “He got goals in the early part of the season.
“I think Frank has shuffled way too much; he’s been spinning plates in defensive areas, midfield, the forward line.
“But yes, he hasn’t played well. I’ve seen a lot of Timo Werner from his days in Germany and playing international football, and I know he can’t play up front on his own.
“He’s not the best left-sided player so you are going to have to play like you did in the second half with the two [in attack].
“He’s always played with a big man; that’s when he’s played his best football.
“I referred this before to Michael Owen; Michael Owen would never have been the player he was, and he’d admit this, without Emile Heskey. And that’s what Timo Werner needs to be in that position.
“Frank is going to to have to rethink his team and his formation slightly to get the best out of Timo Werner.”
Werner has struggled for form and it has coincided with Chelsea’s bad resultsAFP
Cascarino also pointed to how savvy Leicester have been with their money compared to Chelsea with their signings they made last summer.
He finished: “If you want to look at investment and improvement and what it does to a football club, just think of the two England full backs – Ben Chilwell and Reece James.
“Chilwell came in for £50m, and at Leicester Castagne came in for £25m, Fofana came in for £30m – that’s £55m [for two players].
“The boy James Justin, I’m sure he’s going to take Chilwell’s job for England because he’s such a terrific player.
“You look at that and it’s cost them a tad more than they paid for Ben Chilwell.”
