Conor McGregor shows full extent of leg injury after brutal Dustin Poirier kicks as Charles Oliveira questions UFC trilogy fight

Conor McGregor has revealed the full extent of his leg injury sustained in his fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 almost two weeks ago.
The Irishman was stunned by Poirier on Fight Island in January as the American sealed an incredible second-round stoppage to avenge his defeat in 2014 thanks largely to his brutal kicking of McGregor’s calves.

The Irishman had no answer
Poirier broke McGregor’s rhythm with several kicks to his right leg and floored his opponent with a short right hand, before The Diamond landed another couple of heavy blows to force a dramatic stoppage.
McGregor was heard complaining to his team about his calf immediately after his loss and was then filmed laughing with Poirier backstage, telling him: “You broke my leg, you b******.”
In an interview after the fight, McGregor said: “My leg is completely dead. It’s like an American football in my suit at the minute.”
And it looks like two weeks haven’t made much of a difference as McGregor revealed a picture of his leg still resembling an American football on Instagram.

Due to the fact he was knocked out, McGregor will have to serve a mandatory 45-day medical suspension to allow his body to recover.
However, the on-site physician saw fit to also issue a 180-day suspension owing to any potential fibula or tibia injury in his right leg.
Should a doctor clear ‘The Notorious’ in this time frame, though, he will be able to return.
Poirier is open to a third fight with McGregor, who admitted he was ‘buzzing’ for part three despite the UFC’s lightweight title being vacated by Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement.
Charles Oliveira, another contender for the belt, expressed his surprise that Poirier would fight McGregor again, rather than take him on for a shot at the title.
After Poirier tweeted ‘You know we are going to do it a third time’, Oliveira responded: “Hum… So don’t you wanna face me for the 155’s gold?
“Who’s next then? Who I need to beat to have this lightweight belt around my waist?”
